Uma curta metragem cheia de pequenos pormenores muito curiosos. Desde os cenários estilizados às personagens com um visual muito original, tudo tem um toque muito próprio e destaca-se por isso.  Este projecto foi desenvolvido durante o Bacharel do realizador.

A short film filled with very curious little details. From the stylized sets to the visually original characters, everything as a unique touch to it and stands out because of that.  This was the director's School bachelor project.

A mais aclamada produção em Stop Motion feita em Portugal até ao momento. Produzida pela Zepplin Films esta curta metragem ganhou um cobiçado Cartoon D'Or e fez furor pelo mundo fora. Infelizmente não foi possível encontrar uma versão com melhor qualidade ou legendada, no entanto dá para apreciar a qualidade presente na produção através deste vídeo encontrado no youtube. Se não conheces já esta animação...uma boa viagem. :) Se a quiseres adquirir em DVD é só passar por aqui.

The most acclaimed Stop Motion production ever made in Portugal so far. Produced by Zepplin Films this short film won the coveted Cartoon D'Or award and made a fuss throughout the world. Unfortunatly a better quality or dubbed version isnt available, but you can appreciate the quality present in this production on this video fond on youtube. A lonesome xylophone player finds a viciously growing tumor under his arm. In his attempts to get rid of the tumor he discovers that it has some unconventional qualities.

Using a mixture of varied Stop Motion style of animation this two swedish directors bring us a story filled with fantasy and magic. Brimming with little details and cleaver solutions, not mentioning the captivating visuals, that help us get well inside the story of this improbable heroin.

A história de Édipo, em 8 minutos, representada por vegetais, na tradição de Ben Hur. Um épico de espada e salada, no CinemaScope clássico . No elenco temos uma batata, um tomate, bróculos, alho, e Billy Dean Williams como o Barman.

O filme levou 2 anos, uma equipe de voluntários com mais de 100 pessoas, recursos a nível de pós-produção doados pela Industrial Light and Magic e Skywalker Sound. Um dos primeiros filmes de Stop Motion filmados com camera digital (a tecnologia era tão recente que o equipe do filme "Noiva Cadáver" passou pelo estúdio para estudar o processo).


The story of Oedipus, in 8 minutes, performed by vegetables, in the tradition of Ben Hur. A sword and salad epic, in classic CinemaScope. Featuring a Potato, a Tomato, Broccoli, Garlic, and Billy Dee Williams as the Bartender.

The film took two years, a volunteer crew of more than 100 people, and post production resources donated by Industrial Light + Magic and Skywalker Sound. One of the first stop-motion films shot on a digital still camera (the technology was so new, the Corpse Bride crew stopped by to study our setup).

Inspired by a BBC Radio 4 show starring and written by Andy Hamilton, we have here a short pilot packed with that so much aprreciated Brittish Humor. Filled with illustrated solutions for the sets and backgrounds and with characters very rich in personality, i hope this show as a future ahead, that is, if it ever gets out of the feared Development hell.

De todos os filmes que vi ultimamente, e pelo que posto aqui no blog podem ter uma ideia da quantidade e qualidade do que tenho visto, este foi o filme que mais me chamou à atenção. Gosto de tudo neste filme. Da animação, à locução, fotografia, realização...este filme acaba por satisfazer todos estes campos e mais alguns. Fez-me rir, aprender e ver as coisas de outra perspectiva, mas mais importante bebi todas as palavras ditas e vivi a "aventura" que é trabalhar num arquivo fotográfico.


From all the films i have been seeing lately, you can have a good idea about the quantity and quality of what ive been whatching by what i post here on the blog, this was the film the caught my attention the most. The animation, announcer, photography, direction...this film satisfies all these fields and then some. It made me laught, learn e see things from another perspective, but most importantly i "drank" every single word and lived the "Adventure" that is working on a photographic archive.

Do realizador de "Zero" eis uma nova curta. "Uma estranha criatura corre contra o tempo para fazer a mais importante e bela criação da sua vida", isto através de uma construção de cenários e adereços de uma excelente qualidade e uma direcção de fotografia exemplar. Outro pormenor que me chamou bastante à atenção foi a banda sonora, elemento sempre presente e quase tão importante quanto as próprias personagens. Pode visitar o site aqui.


From the director of "Zero" here is a new short film. "A strange creature races against time to make the most important and beautiful creation of his life", this using spectacular sets and props and a high quality photography direction. Another detail that caught my attention was the sound track, always present and as important as the characters itself. You can visit the site here.

Achei esta história genial. Por um lado porque às vezes me identifico com a personagem, por outro porque acho que o realizador conseguiu contar esta história de uma forma exímia.
Das personagens animadas em múltiplas técnicas, aos cenários cheios de detalhes e em várias escalas até aos constantes movimentos de câmera, tudo chama à atenção e me surpreende. Gostei mesmo muito deste filme.



I found this story genious. Maybe because in some ways i identify myself with the character, or simply because the director managed to tell it in a unique way.
From the puppets being animated in a variety of ways, the sets being filled with detail and vary in scale and the constante camera movements that flow throughout the film, everything gets my atention and becomes a surprise. I really liked it alot.
